This beloved event not only brings festive cheer to Nevada but also serves as a heartfelt tribute to our founding partner, Troy Atkinson, Esq., whose legacy of courage, compassion, and community lives on.
A Legacy of Strength and Giving Back
In May 2014, Troy Atkinson, at just 37 years old, received the devastating diagnosis of Stage 4 colon cancer.
Despite the challenges he faced, Troy inspired everyone around him with his bravery and selflessness, always directing support to those in greater need. His journey ignited a new purpose within our team—to live healthier lives and give back to our community in meaningful ways.
In honor of Troy, we participated in the Rockin Reindeer Run, raising funds for the Stand Up to Cancer Foundation. The event became a cornerstone of our firm’s commitment to making a difference, and Troy’s presence, whether in person or spirit, made each year unforgettable.
The Battle Born Journey Through the Years
- Winter 2015: Troy, though battling his illness, was able to cheer from the sidelines, witnessing a sea of Battle Born Ram Heads on the backs of shirts worn by walkers and runners united for him and the cause. The love and solidarity in the air were palpable, a testament to his indomitable spirit.
- Winter 2016: Though physically unable to attend, Troy’s presence was felt as we shared videos and photos of the day with him. The overwhelming turnout, featuring nearly everyone associated with our firm, deeply touched him and reinforced our shared mission to honor his fight.
- Winter 2017 to Present: Since Troy’s passing on December 28, 2016, we have rallied each year to carry on this cherished tradition. The Rockin’ Reindeer Run is more than a race—it’s a celebration of Troy’s legacy and the enduring strength of our ever-growing Battle Born family.
A Race Full of Festive Cheer and Purpose
This year’s Rockin’ Reindeer Run was held on December 14, organized by the incredible team at Jus Run. Participants enjoyed perfect weather, holiday music by DJ Rich, festive face painting by Celebrate Kids, and the heartwarming presence of Santa and Candy Claus.
The generous donation of toys added to the holiday spirit, reminding us of the power of community during the season of giving.
