Kathleen Villatoro is an associate at Battle Born Injury Lawyers whose practice focuses on personal injury, premises liability, and medical malpractice. Kathleen is a Las Vegas native and graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a B.A. in psychology before earning her Juris Doctorate at UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law in 2020.
Kathleen was first introduced to the criminal justice system when she worked as a correctional officer for three years at a Nevada prison. At the prison, Kathleen met and worked with people from all walks of life and saw first-hand the necessity of a better system. Her time as a correctional officer motivated her to work diligently in gaining acceptance to Boyd Law School to pursue a career in the legal field.
In law school, Kathleen worked as a student-attorney in Boyd’s misdemeanor clinic and interned at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, Clark County’s Special Public Defenders Office, and Clark County’s Public Defenders Office.
As an intern and student-attorney, she had the opportunity to conduct bail hearings, advocate for the education of children with special needs, and observed criminal trials.
In her first year, she was awarded the “Outstanding Student Sealed Records Program Award” for her efforts in teaching the public the process of sealing criminal records. Then in her third year, she and her clinic partner were awarded the “Outstanding Clinical Team Award” for their work in the misdemeanor clinic.
Kathleen’s experience and education has led her to understand the importance of zealously representing clients and she is devoted to providing the same level of advocacy to her clients at Battle Born. Kathleen is a mother of two girls and enjoys dancing and spending time with her family in her free time. She is also a member of the Clark County Bar Association and is licensed to practice in Nevada
